Shira joined the Street Sense staff in August 2015. She is a Phi Beta Kappa and graduated summa cum laude from The George Washington University with a BA in Political Science and Theater. She began her Street Sense experience in 2013, when she helped found the theater group Staging Hope, Street Sense’s first Media Center workshop. She volunteered with Staging Hope for two years before working as Manager of Events and Office Administration.
