Editorial Intern – Summer 2025
Sam Belmar is a rising junior at William & Mary, studying sociology and French. Sam works as a news editor at William & Mary’s student newspaper, the Flat Hat, where he covers stories ranging from higher education policy shifts under Trump, administrative reporting and various student organizations and on-campus news topics. Sam previously worked at TF1 French Television’s Washington DC bureau, where he researched and produced a variety of American news stories for an international audience, including two special editions on the 2024 election. Sam looks forward to reporting on homelessness and other social issues as an editorial intern!
