Khyeria Ferguson served briefly as an editorial intern for Street Sense. She was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin but attends school at Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois. She is a rising senior studying Black World Studies, Rhetoric & Communication with a minor in Social Justice and Civic Engagement. She is very passionate about issues pertaining to social justice and being a voice for oppressed communities. With her studies she plans to be a social-political activist and aid in eliminating systematic oppressions’ through written work. As a communications major Khyeria intends to utilize her strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills to construct articles highlighting concerns of social justice in the D.C. area, allowing her to be a voice for communities that are often held silent.
