Jem Dyson is a senior at Georgetown University majoring in mathematics with a minor in journalism. Jem finds journalism to be not only a method of creative expression but an honest way to share news with others. If you ask Jem why she studies math, she will say it is because she can listen to music and solve problems at the same time. But she also has a soft spot for numbers. Jem is excited to work in the District because she hopes to help the city’s community in a way that reminds her of her community in Brooklyn, NY where she grew up. In her free time Jem likes to ride her bike, make soups and enjoy the outdoors.
