Darick has lived in Washington D.C. all his life, growing up in the Southeast quadrant of the City. He graduated from Ballou Sr. High School and attended the University of the District of Columbia, where he majored in Communications and Music Ed.

Shortly after school, he began to think about his purpose in life and how he could make a difference in the community in which he grew up. In 1993 a friend informed him of an opportunity to work with the At-Risk Youth population. Being familiar with stories of kids being abused and abandoned, he seized the opportunity and for 12 years he mentored and helped shape the lives of young people in Washington, D.C.

In 2006 Darick’s journey took him in another direction, and he began working as a case manager to provide support for adults with mental illnesses. His passion to serve others has not wavered, and he is continuing to help those who continue to face challenges.
