Warren Stevens Jr. was born into a military family here in Washington and has lived in many places. Warren went to high school in Okinawa, Japan, and spent 5½ years in Bangkok, Thailand, where he learned a few words of the Thai language and also took guitar lessons. The family eventually returned to Washington and settled into a house on Varnum Street in NW DC. Warren has a sister in Maryland. A few years ago he retired from his job at the Department of Transportation, where he was in printing and distribution. In addition to selling Street Sense, Warren now works part time as a contract cleaner at the U.S. Post Office. He has never been homeless.  

What is your favorite kind of music? I like jazz, gospel, and oldies.  

Do you have a favorite food? I like seafood, especially crabs. I like to cook.  

What kind of movies do you like? I like comedies and enjoy Jerry Lewis movies.  

Why do you sell Street Sense? To make money and to make friends with the customers. 

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? In a nice apartment.
