I hide within my poetry
looking for a way to stand out

to relax out of the cold on the streets
I feel the old years of homelessness
to the next stage for the new years to come
I hold onto all
that I see in the streets
But the promise of a new year
will soon be with me
I only wish to experience and teach

of our nation’s capital
I will mentor all that
