From the streets to the television industry, Sebastian Hughes, a film and TV producer from California, has created a reality TV series about being homeless in the United States. But so far the producer has faced adversity in getting his show off the ground.

Hughes, formerly homeless himself, has faced rejection from virtually all major television networks. Not one to be deterred, Hughes has placed his idea on Kickstarter, an online forum for project funding, the Huffington Post reports.

He has also turned his rejection into another project: a documentary titled “Homeless Need A Network,” which documents his journey to air a show featuring homeless people in the Bay Area.
