Rest in Peace, Tent City

Bugs and rats,
blankets and vents
All surrounded
by our pop-up tents

Look up to the sky,
I see the rain
Will the government help
our tent again?

Violence is major,
how do we eat?
Amtrak harass us
finding secluded places to sleep

Begging for money
Sleeping in a tunnel
Condos being built
with our government capital

MPD are being defunded
Kids dying daily
It takes for a body to drop
before we get attention

They hop visitors
coming off the train
They see homeless all around
Union Station
The body remains

Bye bye, L St. and M St.
Rest in Peace, Tent City
due to the violence
and trash under the bridge
