Positive Action

A photo of a sunrise

I am rising up. Every Thursday I have to go to the hospital, where the nurse sticks an I.V. in my arm to put iron in my blood. I also have Hepatitis. I have been taking medication prescribed by my doctor for months in order to see if it is effective – I’ll keep you updated through my writing.

But God, the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ are putting me back together. I celebrated my 10th year of sobriety on January 2. I also now go to school at the DC Library, Monday through Thursday. I’ll graduate with a diploma in November. I try to work on the computer several hours each week outside of class.

I still haven’t talked to my daughter and grandson or other grandkids. That makes me sad. But I continue to hope that God, the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ will guide them and keep them from making the same mistakes I did.
