Panic Attack

A woman holding her face

When I feel I am having a panic attack, I have to know I am safe right now.  I have to remember that the feelings and symptoms are very frightening, but they are not dangerous or harmful.

I know that I am not in any danger.  I know that it is a natural response.  I have to remember: do not fight your feelings or wish them away.  The more I am willing to face them, the less intense they become.

I have to stay in the present, keep my feet on the ground, and know I am getting enough air.

Right now I am starting to relax. I know that I am calmer.  I know that I am OK.
