Never Forgetting

I never forget where I have come from. It’s still fresh in my mind when I used to sleep on the street or in an alley or under a bridge, in the most important city in the free world and my hometown.

I never thought this would happen to me: a Vietnam War veteran, sleeping anywhere he could lay his head in the city of his birth.

It makes me think about Jesus Christ. When his mother, Mary, was unable to find a place to have her baby all she could find was a manger in a city called Bethlehem, in the Province of Palestine. In other words, Jesus was born homeless even though his father, God, owned the whole world.

As a people, we need to be careful how we treat each other because one day, God says we will be held accountable. I believe we need to study and learn the real meaning and reason for Christmas. I believe that no one should be left out – not one person.

God called this nation to be like no other one on Earth. I think if we don’t be about his business, we are in for a rude awakening.  God Bless and Happy Holiday!
