I am writing to you from Martha’s Table, where I serve as President/CEO. We’re great Street Sense supporters here at Martha’s Table and big fans of the stories you publish!

I wanted to send a quick note in response to a recent article that mentioned our organization: “Ending Some Services at Martha’s Table,” by Gwynette Smith. While we’re very excited about our planned expansion to Ward 8, and to have an opportunity to serve even more children and families there, Martha’s Table has had a 35-year commitment to the 14th Street neighborhood and will continue to honor this commitment. I want to emphasize: this is an expansion, and not a departure. Our food services (like McKenna’s Wagon, our mobile food truck) and our early education programming will continue to be sited in this neighborhood.

We remain very committed to those seeking services in the 14th Street Corridor, and look forward to expanding our impact at the same time!

Sincerely,

Patty Stonesifer
