A bus is being retrofitted to resemble an under-bridge encampment, meant to draw passersby into the exhibit for conversation about homelessness. Inside the bus is a resource precious to people without homes: an individual space. Each participant artist can create an immersive art installation in this space and invite others in the community to interact with the art as the bus tours the city, stopping at local events and gathering places. After initial discussions with the community, the vision is that the theme of each interactive installation will be the artist’s life story (but other themes might emerge in the workshop process). Outside is a blank canvas for all to express themselves through graffiti art. And we hope to make the roof a stage for performances of all kinds.

We believe ending homelessness begins with listening to the stories of those who have experienced it.
