God of the morning

The game room is my favorite room to gather and take on the challenges of mortal men. This room has hosted Uno, ping pong, video games, board games, and card games. Group activities and movies, meals, and celebrations have been held here. But occasionally, I sense a Divine challenge, a challenge from my God. At breakfast, I chuckle, butterflies fluttering within my chest. The sun rises in the east as the birds chirp. The cows gather on the hills. And the geese swim through the pond. As if my eyes were opening to another world, I perceive the wonders of the gift of a new day. And I sit back into my seat, welcoming my friend, the God of dreams, the God of the morning.

After enjoying my meal among the people, I stand as if to accept the challenge of my God. I stand and slightly bow as if to welcome Him into the room. I throw away my trash and slowly walk around the room like a predator, pacing warily, cautiously. Only three or four remain in the room, observing the supernatural activity between me and the invisible One. I can feel You all around me, thickening the air I’m breathing. The Flyleaf song runs through my mind. As the atmosphere clears and the challenge lifts, I leave the room satisfied that I have met my love, the giver of life, the God of the morning.
