Devising Hope

Devising Hope is a weekly theatre workshop in which Street Sense artists join high school students to exchange stories of their lives, engage in theatrical exercises and improvisations and discuss over-arching themes of student-written and classical plays, such as love, family, grief, and personhood. The discussions in the workshop are then transformed, through cooperative artistic development, into scenes and monologues performed for the public at the end of each 10-week cycle.

The resulting theater production provides creative and dramatic ways to engage the wider community, not only on the topic of homelessness, but of universal human struggles and experiences.
