Looking back, and looking forward: The New Year

Because of the pandemic, America has changed. We Americans had to practice something called social distancing. We had to be six feet apart from each other. And those who tested positive for Covid-19 had to be quarantined and stay indoors or at home for two weeks.

We had to wear masks inside and outside of public spaces and on public transportation. We lost many lives because of Covid-19. The government shut down. Some people went out of business and lost their jobs. Schools closed down.

But looking forward, schools and some businesses are starting to open back up. The country’s infrastructure is still up and running. And mask wearing restrictions are not as tough as they were at the beginning of the pandemic.

Now, the media is talking about a new strain of the virus. So, I wonder what this means for the world in the future. But I am hopeful for the new year. Wish you a happy new year.
