On Feb. 14, the day of the massacre I was incredibly upset. My heart was broken. But on this loving day, Valentine’s Day, my heart was open to everything, even the love of missing my mother, may she rest in peace.
When I saw the shooting on the news, I thought about my situation and what I am going through. I thought about how long it took me to have a place to live. The students had lives and careers the shooter took away from them. That is why I count my blessings every day and am thankful for what I have, because being homeless for 28 and a half years was a long ride. But I never gave up, thanks to God.
I will still always love the blessing God gave me and I dedicate my prayers to the students and faculty who were killed in that terrible Valentine’s Day massacre. May they rest in peace. My prayers also go out to their families. May God bless you. Amen!
