Hello my name is Ronald Smoot. I was laid off from my job months ago and I’ve been spending time with my wife at home. I was getting bored sitting at home so I went back to selling this paper so I can help in my apartment to buy food. I’ve been looking for a new job so I can take care of my needs and help my wife out around the house. I’ve talked to a caseworker down at Street Sense Media to help me find a job on the computer. My last job was working for Gilbane Construction at Georgetown and I went to work six days a week. I was picked to go there after working for National Service Contractors on Martin Luther King Jr. Ave SE. My supervisor was chosen and she picked me out of 10 people. My job specialist picked that job for me and I was there for four years.
So now I ask Street Sense Media to help me get a new job. I’m looking forward to working again before I get too old. Right now I’m 54 years old and I don’t work. My bones are getting old. So I will pray to God to go back to work again. Can you all pray for me, too, please? Thank you.
