Gratitude and thanks for SOME

Grateful, for I know a place ain’t nobody dying
I take you there, I am not lying
9th and O Street NW, Washington, D.C.
A place called SOME, Inc.
They feed the hungry seven days a week.
SOME gives out Thanksgiving baskets
and Christmas gifts for you and your kids.
There are treatment services and medical services
and psychological treatment for you and me.
That’s right, a clothing room. Free services.
What do you say about that?
SOME — So Others May Eat.
It is a place to be thankful for, grateful for,
and I place my gratitude every day.
I even say a little prayer to God
that I can eat some and so others might eat 🙂
A trip to the mountains to get yourself together
might be the first step to recovery.
A runaway could run to job training, a second chance,
a better chance than being on the street.
