The play took place on Tuesday, July 19 at the newly renovated Arena Stage.
The story provided insight into BeBe (played by nephew Juan Winans) and CeeCee’s (played by niece – Debrah Joy Winans) close-knit family and how they rose to fame.
The two left Detroit at the ages of 17 and 15, respectively, in 1981. They headed to Pineville, South Carolina to sing gospel for “The PTL Club (Praise The Lord) network,” founded by Jimmy (Chaz Pofahl) and Tammy Faye Baker (Kristen Wyatt).
The two stayed for six years spreading the love of God through song. Never forget who you truly are!
