About Me

Portrait photo of Pat Donaldson

It’s not hard to sell the paper, and it gets easier over time. You get to know the customers well. You have to be patient when you’re out there every day. Put in that little bit of extra time and you will make some money. I go out to a few different places, like Dupont Circle and Eastern Market. I like to do the best I can.

Sometimes I get stressed, emotionally or physically. It can come from any event or thought that makes you frustrated, angry, or nervous. It’s your body’s reaction to the challenges or demands. Short bursts of stress can sometimes be positive, such as when it helps you avoid danger or meet a deadline. But when stress lasts for a long time, it may harm your health.

Your body reacts to stress by releasing hormones that make you more alert, tense your muscles, and increase your pulse. It’s your body’s way of protecting itself. But when you have chronic stress, your body stays alert even though there’s no danger. Over time, this puts you at risk for health problems like high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, obesity, depression or anxiety, and skin problems like acne.

If you already have a health condition, chronic stress can make it worse. It can also cause you to have trouble sleeping, which has other poor health effects. So you’ve got to keep an eye on your stress.
